Product Updates September 2025

As the days get shorter and the leaves begin to turn, we’ve been busy tidying up and adding new improvements across the Clipsource platform. As always, all our updates are meant to make your work cleaner, faster and easier. Here are the new features, exciting upgrades and fixes we are launching this fall season with:

New: Import content from Word

You can now import a Word file (.docx) directly into the Media Center when creating a post. Pretty cool! This requested feature is ideal for teams who draft their content in Microsoft Word.

  • When importing, we keep paragraphs, bold/italic, links and lists.

  • Strips unwanted Word formatting like inline styles, smart quotes, etc.

  • Ensures clean email and page rendering

  • Available via Media Center → Create Post (+) → Add content → Import from Word

New: Accessibility icon tooltips

To improve clarity and support accessibility even further, we now show tooltips for icons in the Schedule view in Media Center (public) and Admin (backend).

  • Introduced a WCAG standard, where you can hover or mouse-over to get an explanation for:

    • Audio description

    • Spoken subtitles

    • Sign language interpretation

    • Subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing

You will see this in the backend (admin), the tool tips will appear in English, but on your Media Center (Public, what your viewers see), the tooltips will be localized to your language in the Media Center. See screenshot for an example:

New: Flag AI-generated images

Admins can now mark images as AI-generated in Program Catalog and Book Catalog.

  • Will detect automatically from EXIF/IPTC if available

  • You can also manually toggle the tag: remove it if needed or add it yourself if the system doesn’t detect it automatically.

  • Icon shown in admin views and previews

  • The AI-generated image flag is now included in our VOD and Schedule APIs.

Update: Rebuilt filters and bulk actions in Mediabank

Under the Mediabank, when managing all your different files, we’ve overhauled how filtering, selecting and managing files work:

You can now combine all filters (Format, Aspect Ratio, Upload Date) for an even more refined search.

E.g. you are looking for all images (format), that are Landscape (aspect ratio) and that have been uploaded in the last 30 days). We also now show a short summary of how many results you got from that search. See in the screenshot below:

  • Select All” supports full collection selection. Meaning you can choose to select just the 15 items shown on the current page or select all results in the collection even those beyond the first page.

  • Bulk actions: Update metadata, Copy, Move, Delete.

Update: Smarter handling of large images + Better poster quality for full-width videos

Across the entire platform, we’ve improved how we process large image uploads when generating thumbnails. This prevents image errors and ensures consistent performance across modules. This update also affects Poster images for full-width video components in Page Builder.

Update: Support for RSS and Atom feeds

This update expands the post import feature in Media Center: you can now connect both RSS and Atom feeds, making it easier to automatically pull in content from external sources.

This feature creates draft posts with all included media, so you can then choose what to publish and when.

So if you’re syncing news, blog posts, or updates from a partner, Media Center will create posts directly from the feed, saving you time and removing the need for manual copy-paste.

This feature is added by us on request, so you can always email us at support@clipsource.com and we’ll set it up for you.

Update: Manual re-import now updates timestamps

In the Schedules import status view, manually re-importing a file now updates the “Last saved” timestamp, even if the file content hasn’t changed. This gives clearer feedback when customers trigger a re-import.

Update: Cleaner pasting in Page Builder

In the page builder, when building pages, two improvements when pasting into text components:

  • All pasted content is stripped of unwanted styling

  • Empty rows above and below pasted content are removed

Update: Improved validation for imported schedules

We’ve refined how schedule validations work in the Media Center.

The system now distinguishes between overlaps that occur within a broadcast day and those that happen across broadcast days. This gives you more precise feedback when something needs attention, without incorrectly flagging legitimate gaps, like when a program ends on Friday midnight and the next one begins on Saturday.

Fix: Download button in Page Builder

When embedding a “Download all” button for Mediabank collections in Page Builder, all file types (not just images) are now included, matching native Mediabank behavior.

This affects: Media Center → Create Post / select post → Add component → Collection

That’s all folks!

We’ll be back soon with even more updates—until then, happy publishing!
